Hi. I'm Marissa Dudek.

Doctoral student and NASA FINESST Fellow, at UNC Chapel Hill in the Global Hydrology Lab studying changes in global river discharge using the SWOT satellite.

Learn about what I do

Research

I am interested in how we can use remotely sensed data and numerical modeling to inform our understanding of hydrologic and geologic processes on global scales.

Planetary Geology

Numerically model atmospheric effects on asteroids to test if they could survive to hit the surface of Venus, Earth, and Mars and form impact craters.

Hydrology

Estimate when and where rivers are gaining and losing streamflow overtime using the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite.

Geoscience Education

Develop high-resolution imagey and digital three-dimensional models of geologic outcrops and samples for open-source use in geoscience courses.

Here’s some stuff I made recently.
